If Your Lucky Enough to be at the Beach, Your Lucky Enough!

We went down to a beach house in Gleneden last weekend. It was so nice to get away from all our projects and have some good 'ole family time. We stayed at the house all day Friday and Sunday, just running down to the beach between storms. It would clear up and be warm and sunny. Then a strong wind would blow a big storm in and dump sheets of rain. It was fun to watch.

We made all kinds of fun meals and treats, watched lots of movies, played games, crafted, read, etc. It was great!

Saturday we went down to Newport to a lighthouse, the Oregon Aquarium and lunch. Hannah was so excited to see a real lighthouse. They climbed to the top and checked out the lantern. They both were full of questions for what it was used for. The ocean was really stormy, so it was an easy object lesson of what the ships did to avoid the point of land we were on. The Oregon Aquarium was very interesting and the kids LOVED the "Touch Tide Pools". They spent almost an hour touching star fish, sea cucumbers, sun star fish, sea anenome, crabs, fish, etc. Jack decided to take a nap during most of it, but he really liked the sea lions and seals. They put on quite the show for us.

Oops, we did it again!

Tonight I was washing dishes and watching "What Not To Wear" (Hannah's favortie show?!?!). A trailer for the "Meerkat Manor" came on with one of the female meerkats standing there pregnant. The song that accompanied this poor woman was Brittany Spears, "Oops, I did it again". It struck a familar cord to my life and I went into hysterical laughter. I feel her pain!! "Oops, we did it again . . . ."

Baby Jack Jack's 1st Birthday

My baby is ONE!! We had a cute little party with Mom, Grandpa & Grandma Wolfe, Andy & Juli's family, and Jason & Tammi's family. He performed like a pro with his little cake. He was even willing to share. We all opted for the carrot cake, thanks anyway Jack. He was so worn out from all the excitement that he went to bed before all the guests left. What an adorable little man! We are so grateful for him.

Update on Baby #4

Some of you may not know, but we are not finding out the gender of Baby #4. We will try again to keep it a surprise. (Our doctor slipped at 36 out of 38 weeks with Jack Jack. Oops!)

Today at my appointment we scheduled the c-section for. . . . . MONDAY, JANUARY 7th, 2008. Jack's birthday is October 7th, so they will be exactly 15 months apart. SCARY!!

Baby is doing well; good heart beat, good size, constant kicker! I'm doing well for being a "fat pregnant chic". Love the bloody noses, varicose veins, acid reflux with EVERYTHING I eat, and inability to sleep at night, but great desire to sleep all afternoon. Gotta love it, but really grateful to be able to get pregnant on my own this time, one LAST time. :)

Where did Jack Jack Go?

I was talking on the phone with my sis, Jenn, when I could hear Jack calling out for me, but I couldn't find him. I eventually located the little voice under a laundry basket. His freshly cleaned blanket was sitting in a basket on top of another basket. When he went to pull the blanket out . . . he tipped the basket over on top of himself. He was happy as could be as he had his blanket. He cracks us up!!

Budding Talent: A Few Hair Designs by Hannah

Grandma Joyce's 60th Birthday

Happy Birthday Grandma!! Mom came out for her birthday and Jack's 1st birthday. It was so good to see her. It had a been a bit to long. The kids were so excited to throw a party for her and Ben got a little carried away with all the "BIG 6 O" decorations. We had a great cake and had dinner at one of Mom's favorite restuarants, Spaghetti Factory. It was so fun to spend time with Grandma. She is such a big help and knows so much. I learn something new everyday from her. Thank you mom for all the canning, planting, parenting, decorating, listening and laughing. You are wonderful!!

Soccer '08

We found a gold mine of time with our soccer league this year. A few parents organized a soccer league made up of parent coaches. We all played on the same field (the large field behind the Jackson School church) at the same time, two days a week for an hour. No Saturdays! No traveling in two directions all over the city. No cost! It was great. A bit less challenging for Jeff, but he was the star and Hannah did a great job as well. It was an ideal family oriented league. Love it!!
